Jaiden & Berry’s Wild Tipsoo Lake Elopement

Meet Jaiden & Berry, an adventurous couple from Arkansas who turned their cross-country National Park road trip into the ultimate love story!

They met online—Jaiden was modeling in China, and Berry was serving in the military. When they finally met over Christmas break, it was love at first sight! After a year of long-distance dating, Jaiden moved back to the U.S., and they set off on an epic journey to explore America’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Eloping in Mount Rainier National Park was a no-brainer for them—the lush greenery and rugged peaks were exactly what they dreamed of. We helped them craft the perfect adventure, from forest trails to a dreamy sunset at the lake.

Their ceremony at Tipsoo Lake was nothing short of magical. As the golden-hour light made the wildflowers glisten, they exchanged vows and shared their first dance as Mr. & Mrs.—just the two of them, soaking in the moment.

We feel so lucky to have captured their wild & beautiful elopement. Cheers to Jaiden & Berry—wishing you the best on your journey across the USA!

When is the Best Time to Elope at Tipsoo Lake?

The best time to elope at the lake depends on the kind of vibe you’re looking for. The Chinook Pass typically opens in late June, marking the start of the elopement season, and runs through mid-October. Here’s a breakdown of what each season offers:

  • Late June to Early July: During this time, the lake will still be covered in snow, but temperatures are milder, avoiding the extreme cold that often comes with winter. This is a great time for couples who want snowy photos without the freezing temperatures and fewer crowds, allowing for a peaceful, intimate ceremony.

  • Late July to Mid-August: This is one of the most popular times to elope, as the wildflower meadows surrounding the lake are in full bloom. The vibrant colors and lush greenery create an incredible backdrop for your ceremony and photos. If you love the idea of an alpine meadow surrounded by wildflowers, this is the ideal time to elope.

  • Late September to Mid-October: As fall approaches, the area begins to showcase stunning fall colors. The trees around Tipsoo Lake turn rich shades of red, orange, and yellow, providing a warm and beautiful palette for your elopement photos. Tipsoo Lake Ceremonies: What You Need to Know

The lake is an incredibly beautiful, yet fragile, area within Mount Rainier National Park, and it’s important to protect its delicate ecosystem. Because of its vulnerability, the National Park Service has set specific guidelines to ensure the area remains pristine for future generations.

Fragility of Tipsoo Lake

The meadows are protected due to the sensitive nature of the environment. The land around the lake is delicate, and as such, visitors are not allowed to step off the designated trails. This helps preserve the natural beauty and ensures minimal impact on the area. As your photographer or planner, we’ll guide you through this and discuss the details later to ensure that you have an amazing experience while respecting the park's regulations and to stay on the trails.

Tipsoo Lake Wedding Permits & Group Size Limit

Because of the lake's fragile nature, Mount Rainier National Park limits ceremony groups to no more than 8 people, including the couple and any vendors or guests. This ensures the space stays intimate, quiet, and as undisturbed as possible. If you're planning a larger celebration, you may need to consider other locations within the park.

You will also be required to obtain a permit for your ceremony. This permit is essential and ensures that your ceremony complies with all park regulations. The permit process involves applying ahead of time, and we’ll be happy to walk you through the necessary steps to secure this.

Ceremony Days at Tipsoo Lake

Ceremonies at the lake are only allowed Tuesday through Thursday. This restriction is in place to help manage the number of visitors to the area and minimize the impact on the environment. If you're planning to elope during the weekend or a holiday, you'll need to adjust your date to a weekday or find a different ceremony location.

While ceremonies at the lake are not allowed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, you are still allowed to take photos in the area. The restriction is only in place for legally binding ceremonies.

Tipsoo Lake Parking

The parking lot is relatively small, so it can fill up quickly during peak season, especially on weekends. Arriving early in the day or later in the evening can help ensure a spot. There are also restrooms available near the parking lot for visitors’ convenience.
