Meet the Couple who Eloped at Artist Point

Amanda & David planned a last-minute elopement in the breathtaking North Cascades. They reached out to us knowing exactly what they wanted: stunning mountain views and an easily accessible location. Artist Point was the perfect choice for them.

They opted for a short and sweet 5-hour elopement package, allowing them to experience the magic of the area without an extensive hike. Their day began at the Austin Pass Parking Lot, where Kristi met up with their small group of family and friends for an intimate ceremony overlooking Bagley Lakes.

After exchanging vows, they enjoyed a cozy picnic under the sunny August sky. As the day progressed, they headed up Artist Point Road and hiked to Huntoon Point for sunset. The light was absolutely magical, and as the sun dipped behind the horizon, Mount Shuksan lit up in a breathtaking pink glow.

Their elopement was a beautiful and intimate celebration, and Kristi captured every meaningful moment.

Artist Point Elopement Packages

How much Coverage do I need for an Elopement at Artist Point?

The amount of coverage you need depends on how adventurous you want your day to be! Amanda & David chose our 5-hour package, which is a great option for couples looking for a quick yet breathtaking experience. Thanks to Artist Point’s easy access, this timeframe allows for a ceremony, some portraits, and sunset photos.

However, if you want to include getting ready photos, a longer hike, or additional activities, we highly recommend our 9-hour or 11-hour packages.

For couples looking for an extended adventure, our 2-day package allows you to explore multiple locations or spend time with family on the first day and have an intimate adventure on the second.

Things to consider when Eloping at Artist Point

Is Artist Point Crowded?

Yes, Artist Point is a popular destination due to its easy access and incredible views. To avoid crowds, we highly recommend eloping on a weekday, either early in the morning or later in the evening.

Want more seclusion? No problem! We know several stunning backup locations nearby with similar views but fewer visitors.

How many Guests can I invite to my Elopement at Artist Point?

Artist Point has a guest limit of 12 people, including the couple and vendors. If you have a slightly larger group, there are two additional locations nearby that can accommodate more guests. While these locations may not have the same mountain backdrop, they offer beautiful alternatives such as a turquoise-colored river or a scenic forested picnic area.

Can I Elope at Artist Point in Winter or Spring?

Yes, but winter elopements require extra planning and flexibility. While winter elopements at Artist Point can be absolutely magical, snow and road closures may impact accessibility. If you want a snowy elopement without extreme cold, June is a great month to capture those wintry vibes while still enjoying milder weather. The road the Artist Point opens in late June and stays open until early October.

What happens if there’s Bad Weather?

While we can’t control the weather, we always have multiple backup plans in place! If the mountains are covered in fog, we can explore the evergreen forests and alpine lakes nearby, which create a beautiful, moody atmosphere for photos.

Is Artist Point a Hard Hike?

No, Artist Point is directly accessible from the parking lot. However, if you’re looking for a short and scenic hike, we highly recommend the 1.5-mile loop to Huntoon Point. With only 269 feet of elevation gain, it’s an easy yet rewarding trail featuring the famous Mount Shuksan lake reflection. If you prefer to stay closer to the parking area, there are still plenty of stunning spots for your ceremony and portraits.
